🟠 Beginners Course + Step Up Option (Recommended)

Ready to build your confidence even faster? 💃🏽

This option combines our 5-week beginners course with an additional “Step Up to Improvers” class each week - designed to help you progress smoothly without feeling overwhelmed.

After your beginners class, you’ll stay on for an extra hour where we’ll take what you’ve learned and develop it further. We focus on technique, flow and putting moves together in a relaxed, supportive environment.

It’s the perfect next step if you’re enjoying your dancing and want to feel more confident before moving into improvers.

• Those who have completed a beginners course

• Anyone wanting to build confidence more quickly

• Dancers who feel ready for a little bit more

Beginners: 6:45–7:45pm
Step Up: 8:00–9:00pm

Leaders and Followers

Salsa is a partner dance, where one person 'leads' the other.  There are various styles of salsa,  Cuban, On-1, On-2.   We teach On-1.

Traditionally it is taught as men being leaders and women being followers, but at Salsajoy we recognise that anyone can be any role they like and encourage you to choose what's best for you. We ask that you book the role you'd like for the course as it helps us to plan and balance your experience better.

The venue

Our classes and events are held  at Emersons Green Village Hall, Emersons Green, Bristol, BS16 7AP.  It's a wonderful community village hall, with plenty of parking, as well as off street parking. 

How to get here

You can take several buses from the city Centre 48A, 49, M3 will all take  30 to 45 mins; taxi or cycle, which will be around 40 mins.  There's plenty of parking available on site and ample street parking around the venue, so you won't struggle to find a spot.
