This drop-in class is designed to take you through some of the core techniques of salsa. If you have danced before and want to refresh your memory and moves this is a good place to start.   We cover movement, dancefloor etiquette, lead and follow technique and how to ensure everyone is having the most fun they can on the floor!

This class is designed for complete beginners, so every session will go over the basic step and one other fundamental move.

6:45 - 7:45 class every Monday, at Emersons Green Village Hall

Booking online is recommended, however you can also pay by cash / card or Apple / Google pay on the door.

Leaders and Followers

Salsa is fundamentally a partner dance, where one person 'leads' the other. We like to think of it as the leader being the frame, deciding the structure of the movements, and the follower is the picture, interpreting the lead and adding their own spin to it.

Traditionally it is taught as men being leaders and women being followers, but at Salsajoy we recognise that anyone can be any role they like and encourage you to choose what's best for you. We ask that you book the role you'd like for the course as it helps us to plan and balance your experience better.
